Painting Binge!

I can't believe that three months have passed (nearly) since I stated I was taking a leave of absence from work. Time drags ever so slowly, or passes much too quickly. I don't feel like I've accomplished anything of importance though my home is very clean and there are at least 50 new computer generated images. The desire to paint at the easel has hit hard and I plan to devote myself, throw myself in head first, for the next two weeks. And think about what I want to do when I grow up. I worked last night- I opened up the RRCA for a meeting- "Cumberland County Open Space Recreation and Master Plan"- the first of six meetings hosted by a landscape architectural consulting firm from Pennsylvania. It was extremely interesting and inspiring- what a way to kick off a two week painting binge of the river! Last night concentrated mostly on environmental issues instead of recreational, so it was all the more fitting. I think I'd like to reread Thoreau at this point. AND- to sit for three hours with hard working professionals discussing the merits of conserving our local open spaces, lovely! It was a boost I needed. I'm still not sure what I think of the district lately- as an artist- if it is feasible to try for success here- we've lost two artists this week, and the river functions have all been cancelled for the summer. I maybe don't know anything except for these two weeks, and capturing the beauty of the river as I know it, see it.

And with that, it is time for a walk.....
